While milling, frayed cutting edges and workpieces which loosen from the vacuum table can be a problem every now and then. However, a new special tool with an extraordinary geometry remedies this matter. The flute of this milling cutter has a left-hand twist instead of a right-hand twist and presses the workpiece downwards. This enables a more gentle treatment of the workpiece.

vhf has developed a handy helper with which the time-consuming calibration of the z zero point on engraving and milling machines becomes redundant. This new adjustment unit can be used to calibrate the zero point within seconds at highest accuracy. Especially when it is often the case that workpieces with different thickness have to be processed, this saving of time pays off quickly.

The wastage of tools is especially high when hard metal types like steel or stainless steel have to be engraved. On top of that, it is only possible to move at low rates of feed. To avoid these problems, it is better to emboss the inscriptions than to engrave them. So all vhf CAM systems can be equipped now with a dot embossing unit that is powered by compressed air.
