vhf engraving and milling systems have always been universally applicable. Now a new and improved cutting unit with drag knife which can be used in addition to the spindle is being offered. So the possibility of cutting film can be added to all vhf CAM systems.
The cutting unit is a good-value alternative to an independent cutting plotter. This solution shows special advantages when combined engraving, milling and cutting works have to be performed – as it is often the case in the sign making business. One example would be the production of illuminated acrylic plates on which coloured letterings or logos have to be applied in addition to the engravings.
Due to its space-saving construction, the cutting unit may often be mounted beneath the engraving and milling spindle. Otherwise it can be mounted in every 33 mm spindle mounting block. All standard self-adhesive cutting films can be cut. Possible unevenness of the surface will be levelled by a spring-mounted knife holder which has a linear guide bearing. For an optimum adaptation to different thickness of the film, the cutting depth and contact pressure can be both regulated.
