vhf, manufacturer of engraving and milling systems, has closed a gap between the previous range of rotary current spindles and the much more expensive high frequency spindles. The new SPC 1000 has a nominal power of 1,000 watt and a speed range of up to 30,000 RPM - the fastest rotary current spindle until then only had a speed range of up to 20,000 RPM.
A maximum rotational speed that has been increased by 50% has positive influence especially on applications like sign making. Now it becomes possible to remove more material at higher rates of feed. The high precision of this spindle which has been developed in cooperation with a leading German manufacturer also allows fine engraving works, so it can be used for numerous kinds of applications. The very slim design of this spindle makes it also suitable for three-dimensional milling works.
The spindle motor has a precision bearing that is free from backlash so that a low-vibration running is ensured in spite of the high rotational speed. The frequency converter guarantees a maximum torque over the whole speed range, additionally it is completely software-controlled and integrated into the CAM system's security concept. So this spindle becomes - if the very high rotational speeds of a high frequency spindle are not necessary - a good-value alternative.
