Despite the economic crisis, vhf camfacture is expanding: At the moment, the machine builder is erecting a new, representative company building on the existing company site in the industrial park of Ammerbuch-Altingen. The ground-breaking ceremony took place at the 15th of June amid the applause of numerous invited guests and employees. Afterwards, Frank Benzinger – the manager – got on the excavator which stood by and symbolically started to dig the building pit of this project. The new building will offer generous presentation rooms and further office space. The big highlight is the “transparent factory” – visitors may watch the production of the CNC machining systems.
The Background:
For a longer period of time, the production and presentation space of the CNC machining systems has been very constricted. For instance, the number of employees has doubled up to 50 within the last five years. So plannings for a new building were tackled. Thanks to a coincidence, a neighbouring site including production hall with more than 1,000 square metres effective area was for sale in 2007. This hall was complexly reconstructed in 2008. The ongoing plannings for the new building were adjusted to the new circumstances and are now executed on the new site.
The Building Project:
The new company building will be erected from June 2009 to spring 2010 as extension to the reconstructed hall in Lettenstraße 10. The building contains a presentation area as well as the transparent factory on the ground floor, an office and training area on the first floor, reserve area on the top floor and an underground car park. The floor area amounts to approximately 600 square metres, the effective area including the underground car park amounts to approximately 2,200 square metres.
The structural design mainly consists of concrete, the outer walls will be covered with a smooth metal facade and large windows. The roof construction will be executed as arched roof. Modern technology – as for instance a ventilation and cooling system and overall high equipment – as well as many open communication areas should create a positive atmosphere for employees and visitors. Responsible for consulting, planning, placing and construction management is the engineering office Bednarik from Karlsruhe, Germany.
