From now on, a combined working cycle of folding and cutting materials like cardboard or paperboard becomes possible with a new folding device of vhf camfacture AG. It can be mounted next to the cutting head at the z axis and be operated at the same time.
Possible applications are a customer-specific production of samples, manufacturing individual advertising media, or manufacturing packages in smaller lots.
The folding wheel can be rotated by 90 degrees when the CNC controller activates an impulse of compressed air. Furthermore, a pneumatic lift function of the folding wheel enables the combined cutting and folding operation without having to exchange the machining units. For folding, the wheel is moved downwards from its resting position so that it is below the level of the cutting lance. For cutting, the wheel moves up again and doesn’t obstruct the lance any more.
By using a quick exchanging device, the carrier plate for folding wheel and cutting head can be exchanged to a milling spindle with just a few hand moves.
