Mould Making Tool with Long Free Grinding:
Radius Cutters for Abrasive Materials

Due to the especially long free grinding, finest details can be milled at high dipping depths. For machining different kinds of materials, this tool is available with variously optimised cutting edge geometries.

The dental type with its special grinding for zirconium oxide or other highly abrasive materials is the highlight of this sort of cutters. For materials like wax, plastics or non-ferrous metals, the use of the universal type is recommended. In general, these cutters have two or three cutting edges, depending on their size and a semi-circular rounded tip. Each tool is made of a super finest grain carbide mix which stands out due to its high edge strength and at the same time high abrasion resistance and robustness.

The shank diameter amounts to 3 millimetres, the cutting edge diameter varies from 1 to 3 millimetres. Emphasis shall be put on the large free grinding and on the cutting edge which is, with at least 8 millimetres, quite long. For the use in a CAM 4-02 Impression this tool has a fine flute to which a separately available stop ring can be attached. By using a quick exchanging device, the carrier plate for folding wheel and cutting head can be exchanged to a milling spindle with just a few hand moves.
