vhf camfacture AG has thoroughly reworked and expanded their range of single tooth cutters. Although some rarely requested intermediate sizes had been phased-out, the choice of meanwhile 120 different single tooth cutters represents an increase of about 30 percent compared to the current catalogue 2008/2009.
Two models are now also available with a coating: Already since summer 2009, many single tooth cutters with hawk beak profile can be ordered with an AluSpeed® coating (cf. PR 2009-07). Since very recently also 14 universal single tooth cutters Varius® with shank diameters of 6 to 10 millimetres are available with a super hard carbon coating (SHC). This diamond-like special coating is characterized by its minimal adhesion factor and its extreme hardness. Thus the cutter gets excellent dry running qualities and gets choked less easily. Its already high endurance is increased considerably at a consistent high surface quality of the processed work piece.
Additionally, more tools with stepped shank are now available. The cutting edge diameter of these tools is smaller than their shank diameter. Thus it won’t be necessary any longer to use reducing bushes for tools with different tool diameters, when applying SF spindles with an automatic tool change. Then tools with a 6 mm shank may be used regardless of the width of the required cutting edge diameter. The proportion of especially robust tools with extra short cutting edges has been increased as well.
